Artist Description
From Above explores the patterns of organization that emerge when landscapes are viewed from an aerial perspective. The work transforms industrial materials into an abstract cartography where pathways, boundaries, and networks shift between the natural and the constructed.
Metal mesh serves as a structural framework while hand-painted vinyl, acrylic paint, and turf fabric are woven into layered formations that evoke transportation routes, waterways, cellular structures, and topographic landscapes. Rather than depicting a specific place, the sculpture invites multiple readings, allowing viewers to move between map and organism, infrastructure and ecology.
Through repetitive weaving, rigid materials become fluid systems of movement and connection. From Above considers the landscape as a living network, revealing how patterns of circulation repeat across geography, ecology, and the built environment.
