Artist Description
Dōtonbori explores the dynamic energy of interconnected systems through color, movement, and layered structure. Hand-painted reclaimed rubber bands and acrylic-painted vinyl are woven through metal mesh to create overlapping pathways that expand across the surface without a single visual center. Rather than functioning as decoration, color becomes a map of movement, suggesting the continuous circulation of people, information, and dense urban infrastructure that characterizes contemporary city life.
Through repetitive weaving, industrial materials are transformed into an organic network where multiple trajectories intersect and coexist. The work invites viewers to experience the city not as a collection of buildings but as a living system of constant exchange, adaptation, and flow.
