Artist Description

“The One Tree of Life” is a fictionalized depiction. As a retired physician, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for what constitutes Life on our singular planet. My painting features an ancient Tree, countless years old, with its weathered, knarled trunk, meandering serpentine limbs, and leaves of various shapes, sizes, and colors. Or perhaps some are not leaves at all. The tree is spawning life; some may be its own seeds, though most are other new forms of life, all portrayed by separate nodules, large and tiny, unleashed from the Tree. In the lower middle of the painting, a downward limb is synthesizing another form of new life, its seeds floating downward to the Earth.
