Artist Description
With a background in commercial photography, graphic design, and education, my practice blends multiple approaches, capture methods, and media. A diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis reshaped the way I experience the world, compelling me to slow down, embrace stillness, and discover significance within everyday moments.
Rooted in digital photography, my work explores the overlooked spaces and fleeting experiences that exist within daily life, inviting viewers to look beyond the familiar. This image was created through intentional camera movement during a long panoramic exposure. While the camera mechanically records a fragment of time, I am more interested in expressing what I believed I saw, what I felt, and the quiet narratives revealed as light moves through a scene.
When I look through the viewfinder, I consider how the edges of the frame define space and shape the relationships within it. I think about how a story emerges through the connection of elements—what is revealed, what recedes, and what remains just beyond view. Every image begins with light: the way it grazes a surface, reveals texture, and becomes more luminous against shadow.
By sharing these moments, I invite viewers to linger with details that might otherwise pass unnoticed—the shimmer of light across a puddle, the subtle transition of texture and shadow through a stand of trees, or the dialogue between sharpness and blur. My work seeks to transform the ordinary into something contemplative, reminding us that meaning often resides in the moments we are most likely to overlook.
