Artist Description

Rubber Ducky explores humanity’s complicated relationship with plastic, water pollution, and our impact on the natural world. At the center of the piece, Mother Earth holds the planet as a symbol of our hope that we can still save what has been damaged. Yet surrounded by trash, polluted waters, traffic, and destruction, she represents the fantasy that someone else can rescue a world shaped by our own actions.

The rubber duckies, once symbols of childhood innocence and play, become reminders of how everyday objects can leave a lasting impact. While plastic has transformed our lives in countless ways, its inability to break down has created a crisis threatening our oceans, marine life, and the water resources all living beings depend on.

The idea of coexistence often exists only on paper. The animals that share this planet never asked for these changes, yet their habitats continue to disappear as we take more and leave less behind. Rubber Ducky invites viewers to reflect on the responsibility we carry and the future we are creating for every species on Earth.
