Artist Description

This piece and the collection it is a part of capture my favorite subjects; animals. Silly, whimsy, and a little bit awkward; the kiwi especially so. These are aspects of myself that I feel able to express best through art. The form is a bit unnatural, the gently sculpted torso combined with heavy, clunky feet, and a delicate beak that was made with a handle pulling technique, yet together they create a sturdy unified form. I had a lot of fun with this.
