“Forgotten Things” combines warm olives, tans, and reds with a rich mixed black, that work together to bring about a feeling of home, as they show a small collection of retired objects, perhaps, in theory, gathered for a still life study by an artist that is longing for simpler times. The telephone, tarnished candlestick, cast aside wine bottle, and delightful children’s toy find new life in the cast lighting of the still life grouping. This piece makes me think of what one might find in a village house in Italy, perhaps because of the colors that were chosen, as well as the objects that seem to depict a simple life and time.
