Artist Description

East of the Sun and West of the Moon was inspired by one of my favorite YA novels growing up called East by Edith Pattou. This artwork is an alternative cover illustration idea I had, I thought it woud be a fun challenge for me to render the various textures of fabrics, stone, and fur. This work conveys a large living room as cozy and warm. With the rendering of a wived carpet and hearth, with a young girl reading and leaning into the side of a Polar Bear. This gives the viewer an impression of frigid weather outside out of view.
