Artist Description

Cedar Tree is rendered using various digital watercolor brushes, pencils and pens. The cedar tree is the focal point of the artwork with a deep forest green background to make it stand out. As the viewer looks upon the artwork the eye is drawn to the deep shadows of the various knot holes and hollows of the tree. These shadows lead the eye across the trunk of the tree to the various interesting twists and shapes the cedar has grown in to find any light it can. The various shades of browns for the bark are broken up only by these shadows and the various shades of green from the lichen and other types of moss that call the cedar home.
