Artist Description

This is not the piece I set out to create.  I intended to create a study of geometric shapes to explore light values and textures.  Two shapes into a rough conceptual sketch my mind shifted.  That’s not a sphere, it’s a head.  Another rough sketch led to another idea and another rough sketch.  I began to question if this shifting focus was a random occurrence, or emblematic of the reduced attention span of a mind influenced by a constant bombardment of new information available with the tap of a finger?  Does our intake of information through scrolling and short blurbs begin to change the way we present and create information?  How much can we absorb before the pressure builds beyond what we can contain?  What are the consequences of being chronically online?
