Artist Description
As an angler, I was inspired by how each species of fish has its own distinct character which gets intertwined with the anglers who chase them. Walleyes, with their highly reflective eyes made for great sight in low light conditions and sharp teeth, have an almost demonic appearance. Yet they are not a particularly aggressive fish, often requiring subtle tactics, light lines, and sensitive fingers to be caught. They are excellent table fare, making them a favorite target of working class anglers who fish for them around docks in the evening hours, often using classic lures like the curly tail grub.
