After I recovered from being bedridden with COVID, I noticed my bed in its rawest state. There was a story woven in the sheets between snot-filled tissues and empty water bottles. “Unprecedented Times” is a miniature replica of my life-size bed as it was. The bed is placed on top of a carpet covered cut-out of the United States to show the dominating presence of this illness in our country. Every tiny detail is meticulously and purposefully placed from the discarded mask to the at-home COVID test. Unlike most miniature works, this piece is hung on the wall which changes the viewer’s perspective.
