Rhed Wheel

Haven Morris

The strength of this work revolves around the medium. Using ink on paper allows for a lot of control in the brushwork, but once a mark is made it cannot be undone. The color is built up slowly in thin layers, using only cyan, magenta and yellow. There is a resulting sense of depth, where the view can look through the painting, seeing its history. As the viewer’s eye is drawn around the page, they move from distraction to harmony, shapes shifting in color, into quiet, and into distraction again.
