Artist Description

“White Tree” is another organic, gestural composition from my Tree Series. For this piece, I kept a book of Joan Mitchell paintings open on my worktable to influence and direct my brushstrokes/eyeflow. I did not have a set direction or concept in mind, just the enjoyment of being “in the zone” of working until I stepped back to review the final pass, which is when the white tree revealed itself. Multicolored, impastoed, gestural, lyrical, abstract composition extended around perimeter, wired, varnished, signed.
