Artist Statement

Inspired by a photograph that lingered in my memory for years, this piece became an opportunity to reinterpret a familiar image through my own playful lens. I wanted to create something that made people smile before they even realized why.

By combining texture, bold color, and a touch of whimsy, the alpaca transforms into a lighthearted reminder that joy doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes the simplest moments—a quirky expression, an unexpected burst of color, or a little humor—have the greatest ability to brighten our day.
