Walking on Sunshine was inspired by a photo I came across while looking for interesting horse ideas. Working with various black, blues, purples, nd greens I finally got the beautiful horse to look exactly like I saw him in my mind. Working with blacks and dark colors is always a challenge and I learn as I go. I wanted a bright color to offset him so I chose yellow……..the color of sunshine!

My fabric collaged art quilts are designed with many small fabric pieces
that have been adhered to a base fabric. It is then layered onto
batting and a backing fabric at which point it is machine stitched in
an all over pattern. The machine stitching allows me to not
only hold the pieces in place but to thread paint adding highlights
and shadows. The completed art quilt is stretched onto gallery
canvas.
