“that black bowl” is a favorite because while an abstract piece, an image appeared while I was working with my gelli printed papers. I then developed the black bowl by adding the plant stems and leaves just enough to give me a “story”.
Including recognizable images for me, is a way to ground a painting in a personal memory.
