The phrase “comfortably numb”  by Pink Floyd speaks volumes for me. It captures the state of feeling comfortable in one’s small personal space, consciously ignoring or being  involved with what is happening on the outside of a small sphere. In this painting, a woman is coming from the spa, enjoying a cup of tea. She is numb to the tornado of birds behind her, which symbolize chaos in the outside world, particularly regarding climate change.
