Artist Description

This glass turtle is created through a layered kiln-firing process that combines color, texture, and dimension. Glass enamels are carefully painted onto the surface and fired in the kiln, allowing the glass elements to fuse together into a permanent design. After the initial firing, ground glass is added to create rich texture and depth, enhancing the natural patterns and details of the turtle. A fiber blanket placed beneath the piece during firing gently elevates the turtle, giving it a raised, sculptural quality and allowing it to stand apart from the surrounding glass. The finished work celebrates the beauty of nature through the unique combination of painted glass, texture, and kiln-fired artistry.
