I moved to Spartanburg from Florida last June, and on one of my first hikes around the many open fields and roads, I discovered we have a beautiful stream right at the end of our road! I was really interested to try my hand at painting the depth of the stream with the variety of colors reflecting on it from the trees, rocks and sky. I haven’t painted a lot of rocks, and found the textures and colors to be a lot of fun to recreate.

This painting was created with an alcohol wash as a base of color, to which I used many different brands of soft pastels (Terry Ludwig, Rembrandt, and Sennelier) to create the painting.
