Artist Description

This trompe-l’œil oil painting is a tribute to my mother’s resilience, perseverance, and unwavering optimism in the face of a lifetime of challenges. As a young aspiring artist, I remember walking through the halls of our local church and seeing walls covered with prayer requests. This painting is my interpretation of what my mother’s prayer board might have looked like.

As our family’s quiet guardian, she faithfully carried the burdens of those she loved, praying over cancer diagnoses, mental health struggles, infertility, financial hardships, and countless other concerns. Through it all, she remained a constant source of hope, strength, and unconditional love, offering encouragement even as she carried the weight of so many prayers herself.
