Inspired by a 20th century southern pottery novelty known as a “face jug”, my addition to this lore is called “Poor Man’s Pottery” due to the fact that my “art” is comprised entirely of up-cycled paper products instead of a traditional clay body. Much like the generations of potters before me who used materials that were readily available and plentiful, I do the same, focusing on the use of discarded atlases, pulp mill paper board, and just about any other object found by my roving eye, whether it lay on the ground or tossed in a recycling bin.
