Artist Description

“Finding the true idea of harmony in
nature is by its very essence discordant.” This paradox lies at the heart of my
work as the tension, movement, and constant transformation held within each
piece give birth to the magic of existence. My process involves a transparent
field of deep layering of shapes, light, color, and texture, reflecting
therein. This artwork is a recollection of my journey into the Catskill Mountains in New York. Here, ‘I went to the woods because I wish to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and to see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.’

Wilderness then and now is our first and
last chance to celebrate the continuous evolution of the American landscape, to
harness and salvage the remnants of the fleeting paradise in contemporary
times.  Preservation and Conservation are
the policies necessary to sustain our natural heritage.
