Kuna Yala (Land of the Kuna) is a special place. It is one of the few places where an indigenous people have been left alone and thrived. They form a country within a country (Panama). Culturally they are both gracious and insular at the same time. You are welcome for a brief trading stop, one would not be welcome for long.
Man from Kuna Yala is an image of a Kuna who helped us find a propane filling station. He sits on a bench in the only building not a thatched hut. He, like other Kuna, is slender, but regularly paddles a canoe over miles of open water.
