Artist Description
The painting “Look in here…It’s hilarious!” is flipping
the perspective on who is making the observation. We normally observe wildlife
through the lens of people, but in this situation, it is the Beluga whale that
is observing people… and thinking we are funny looking creatures. The whale’s
laughter is pushing back on our vanity.
The frame was designed to be part of the painting vs. a boarder,
adding to the illusion of being observed.
