Artist Description

Inheritance portrays intimacy as a space where tenderness and burden coexist.

The mother’s body shelters the child while holding an awareness of what is passed on—care inseparable from responsibility. Serpents and apples extend the scene beyond the personal, drawing the image into shared narratives of inheritance and consequence.

What is transmitted here is not only biological, but emotional and cultural: expectations absorbed through care, histories carried through the body, and forms of labor learned over time.

Motherhood appears not as a moment, but as sustained labor—shaped by what precedes the self and carried forward through visible and invisible work.
