Artist Description

This painting was inspired by the epic win of the 2020 Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike in an unbelievable long shot victory. Watching this horse begin the race at the very back of the pack and traverse more then a dozen other horses and an 80 to 1 odds always makes me realize that even when all odds are against you and winning seems so far away that victory is still possible.  Not only did he achieve this monumental feat but he did it after serving a barn fire that killed most of the other horses in the barn.
