In the Shade

One of my favorite places as a child was my Grandmother’s house.  Although it was just a simple trailer home, it was a place of fun, laughter, and love.  This painting isn’t of that particular place, it was torn down years ago, however it always reminds me of her house.  Just like this one, her little trailer had a huge tree growing in front of it, providing shade and a place where my siblings, my cousins, and I would play on hot summer days.  This painting is my way of paying homage to the humble spaces that fill our lives with joy.
