Hibiki in Gold Frame

Kendrick Holley Creations

This piece was created by first using multiple layers of acrylic paint on the back of the frame’s glass to ensure a smooth background color. We then broke a recycled Japanese whisky bottle and meticulously placed the bottle pieces on the front of the frame’s glass. We further carefully mixed and poured epoxy resin over the bottle pieces and background area. Finally, we used a flame over the entire surface area to both prevent and minimize air bubbles in the epoxy resin.

Kendrick Holley Creations is a husband and wife team in Danville, Virginia, that creates broken bottle artwork. A native of Patrick County, Virginia, Melanie Kendrick Holley left her career as an attorney in 2024 to focus on her true passion: art. A native of Danville, Virginia, Dr. Landon J. Holley fully supported his wife in her decision and even assists her with creating artwork when he is not at the dental office. Dr. and Mrs. Holley primarily focus on creating custom pieces of art for fellow bourbon lovers, but also regularly donate pieces to raise money for local charities.

Dr. and Mrs. Holley believe that alcohol is meant to be enjoyed; even after a bottle is finished. Each bottle has a story of its own whether it be the bottle opened on your wedding day, the bottle opened the day you got your big promotion, or even just simply being the bottle you always enjoyed sipping on with your grandfather. Each piece has its own unique story and Dr. and Mrs. Holley find great joy in creating pieces of art that encapsulate those memories for people to enjoy for years to come.
