First in Flight

Born and raised in North Carolina, I used to pride myself in the claim “First in Flight.” It wasn’t until my adulthood I started realizing that mankind always likes to boast about what nature already figured out eons ago. It is so easy to get lost in today’s modern world, and forget the intricacy and complexity of the natural world around us that has existed well before we got here. So next time you see a plane, remember a bird was there first.
