Feathers and Foresight

This painting was inspired by the beauty of an owllike bird called a Tawny Frogmouth. I call this “Feathers and Foresight”. Although similar to owls in appearance, they are not birds of prey. They are insectivores and they reside in Australia. I captured the facial expression on this gorgeous bird in accentuated color and focused eye contact. I loved his expression and felt the need to put it on canvas.
