My favorite tree has always been a dogwood.

As a young girl I loved climbing in my grandmother’s dogwood. I enjoyed watching the cars go by and using the red berries in mud pies. When my grandmother was no longer able to take walks around her yard, I would sit inside with her and watch as the song birds played in the branches.

This piece represents the sweet joyful moments I shared with my grandparents and the love they shared with me.
