Time comes and goes, slipping through our fingers in a way that often feels faster and faster. What can feel like a hopeless endeavor when watching the passage of time does not have to be. There is hope in the changing of seasons, and with each new season, something new comes into bloom. Cherry blossoms have long been a symbol of changing seasons, as well as hope and resilience. This vase was inspired by that idea.

In creating this vase, I found joy in embracing a new season myself. Seasons change, and they are not always easy, but there is hope woven throughout each transition. To focus only on the pain and overlook the beauty that accompanies change would create a desolate world indeed.

Each flower on this vase was individually sculpted by hand and built onto the surface of a wheel-thrown vase, creating a piece that reflects the delicate process of growth and renewal found in nature.
