There are two images of Lady Justice embedded into the Betsy
Ross Flag. One standing firm and keeping a foot on evil (snake) at bay. And making sure that the law is
executed fairly to all. The second is sitting having ripped her blindfold off, scales
have dropped to her side and evil is no longer held under the weight of her
foot. Putting at risk our freedoms. The
words surrounding the flag help describe what we lose if this Lady fails to
stand.
Lady Justice has been
with us since the dawn of civilization. She is linked to the Greek and Roman
civilization. From the beginning justice is linked to order. In the words of
George Washington : “The due administration of justice is the firmest pillar of
good Government.”
