Aurora is a 2025 composition from my Aura drawing series, a set of pieces where I use luminous illustration to visualize each core of my persona. This self-portrait conveys the bright aesthetic of my curiosity and imagination. This part of my soul rises from my innocence, which I deem the ”Nebula,” but configures itself into a more complex and colorful nature. The “Aurora” is what sparks my inspiration when creating art and stories, which I then use to understand the essence of life and faith. We often look at wonders like the Aurora Borealis for insight and comfort, so I bring that feeling to this piece. The light colors are airy yet intricate, giving a sense of peace and wonderment. If you look closely, I don’t directly look at the viewer, but my gaze evokes a mental connection that indices them, like the smile on the Mona Lisa. It’s hard to know why my face is engulfed with all this light, but it’s still an awesome sight to look at. With my wondrous nature, I always love to convey the beauty and space that is around me through stellar compositions. Even with its many colors and fluid shapes, the Aurora is still a marvel in the sky.
