Artist Description

Named such because up until this point the artist had not handled a paintbrush in over 10 yrs. Instead of simply trying her hand at painting again, she decided to incorporate the Afrocentric colors in the background, the different skin tones of many African American people on the face, neck and shoulders, and batik fabric to dress her. Her hair is her crown and is depicted with big beautiful coils of majestic purple.
