Artist Description
A printmaking brayer was carved and then used to transfer meticulous linework of watercolor ground onto the canvas as a woven shape. Betwixt the printed lines lies a darkness only brightened by the queen of the night and a bird of paradise. The monochromatic disposition was chosen to emphasize the vitality darkness and light can bring to nature.
