Anger can be pushed down during the day, while going about our daily routines. But in the night, when we should be sound asleep, the brain wakes up in the darkness and looks back on all the bad choices, hurtful interactions, and misunderstandings in our lives. It revives the anger and frustration that we feel about things we cannot change, and can only look forward and move on, shake it off, don’t do it again.  When my mother forgot who I was in 2017, however, it sparked an anger in me that will only fade with time.  Sixty years of our lives together, up in smoke, because memories are fragile.  The anger has faded into grief, now that Mom is gone, but that sharp anger at the time resulted in this art quilt.
