A Love Letter to Nature

This piece involves many different enameling techniques from sgraffito, sifting to painting.  Several layers of enamel are applied and fused to copper to create the design.  Each enameled piece is unique but tied together with a similar color palette, and a painted earth tone ribbon that runs through each individual enamel.  The ribbon represents a river or a vine reminding us of our connection to earth and to each other.  The metalwork also continues the flow, connecting everything together and creating a harmonious feeling.    The earrings and alternating ovals in the neckpiece have a complementary oval cut out of the metal creating an interesting negative space.    The materials included are enamel, copper, silver and gold.
