Artist Description

Painting Marigold felt like discovering a mix between structure and play.  The squares I painted lined up just enough to give things some order, but with every layer, they seemed to shift a bit and do their own thing. Then, there’s the loop — just one bold, loose stroke — that kind of unravels the neatness and brings a sense of motion to the painting.  It’s not just a painting to look at.  Marigold is something you experience slowly, like you’re getting to know its history and everything that went into it, right along with me.  She’s simply stunning.
