Lichtenberg figures are branching, tree like patterns that appear where lighting has struck, including human skin. A common theme throughout my art is the overlap between nature and humans. I like to show the “ordinary” processes of the world, teetering on the line between the normal and the surreal. I often like to use the hands to convey a certain emotion in my paintings. The hands in this piece are close to the body in a posture of reverence or awe, communicating a feeling rather than a specific story.
