Artist Description

In 2023,  a scroll painting by Jakuchu Ito, Japanese water color painter was discovered in Europe. Jakuchu painted different vegetables with beautiful watercolors and shapes when he was 76 years old during the 18th century.  He had a unique view of the world: vegetables are supreme among everything. By the 21st century, people recognized the importance of vegetables as food resource. I wanted to try to paint different vegetables in the U.S. when I was the same age as Jakuchu (my maiden name is Ito).
