Medium Description
I work primarily in an abstract style, painting on silk fabric using references from my own photographs or sometimes purely from imagination. My process often begins with photography or digital abstraction, which I then translate onto silk using dye, resist, and layered painting techniques. Around these imprints, I build hand-painted compositions that create a dialogue between image, fabric, and color.
Artist Description
his artwork was inspired by a visit to a magical light experience with my family. Surrounded by vibrant colors, laser lights, and constantly shifting patterns, I felt as though I had stepped into another world where reality and imagination merged. The experience awakened memories of wonder, curiosity, and the joy of seeing familiar forms transformed by light.
The central figure is wrapped in layers of patterned silk, symbolizing both protection and transformation. Rather than revealing identity, the figure invites viewers to look beyond the surface and reflect on the emotions and memories that shape who we are. The flowing textures and intricate patterns echo the movement of light, while the surrounding green and luminous forms create an atmosphere that feels both organic and otherworldly.
Working with silk allows light to become an active part of the artwork. The fabric absorbs and reflects color in subtle ways, much like the immersive light installation that inspired this piece. Through this work, I explore the relationship between memory, perception, and the unseen layers of human experience, inviting viewers to pause and discover their own sense of mystery within the composition.
