Description
As an artist, I enjoy the process
of creating my vessels as much as the satisfaction of seeing the finished result.
The process began with imagining the vessel in my mind, deciding on the size,
and determining the number and gauge of the strands I will twine. I also decide
on the colors of the tips of the spokes which varies depending on the amount of
heat I use in the process. I seek an interesting color that compliments the
remainder of the work.
Creating my vessels is extremely
time-consuming due to the thinness of the copper or silver-plated wire, the
time taken to heat the spokes to the correct color, and to melt the tips into a
ball. While creating my work the twining technique, balance, line, color and
texture are all very important. My art is about my feelings, order, and
precision.
