I always considered myself open to change, yet when confronted by change, I
became paralyzed. My life worked for me, I did not need anything different, more so I did not want
anything different. I was presented with an option, represented by the color swatches,
and chose to remain complacent. I mistook denial as a choice. This state of mind was not
sustainable and only produced a feeling of shame. Despite planting my feet firmly, change has
swept me to become a different person.
