Artist Description

Klimt created this painting in 1907 depicting a couple embracing in a gold and floral background. This painting symbolizes love, intimacy and the intertwining of male and female energies. The couple is wrapped in elaborate robes and Klimt uses gold leaf and intricate patterns making it a true representation of romantic idealism.

I wanted to create something special for my husband as a gift for his birthday. So,

I took the top portion of his painting and reproduced it in paper mosaic and live flowers and leaves, along with (of course) gold leaf.
