Fighting the Darkness

 “Fighting the Darkness” is part of a body of work called “Unplanned Pregnancy.” It was created during the prime of my pregnancy before I gave birth. This was a time when I was still battling dark thoughts about being worried about becoming a mother, but I felt more confident than before. This is a drawing of myself that is empowering, like “look at what my body can do,” while still having clouds of darkness around me, but they are dissipating.
