This artwork was created using new materials and finishing techniques for the first time. The piece began to take form and shape as the individual pieces were placed next to and upon each other. Every individual piece had its owns specific placement that influenced the vessels final form. The rough texture became smooth after days of hand sanding. There is an intimate connection with the art when using your sense of touch as your guide to completing these steps. The exterior texture was created by hand using a new approach and is entirely unique to any of my work past or present. The interior finish color is unique to this piece only and the color shifting effect is magnified by the way the dramatic contours of the artwork reflect the way light interacts with the metal flakes.
