Surreal Surface is the yellow representation in the artist’s Seal in Every Color series. The series explores the human/nature connection and the realm of scientific properties in nature. This piece is about surprising the viewer with an unusual environment. Seals are aquatic animals, comfortable in water, but here one emerges from a very different sort of liquid- honey. Bees are such a staple of a healthy ecosystem, but it is one so very different than the one seals inhabit, and yet all of it is connected in the threads of life. This piece explores the great diversity of the natural world.
