I had been doing a series of expressionistic abstract nature paintings when I enlarged photographic details of them I loved the larger splashes of color and decided to do this painting. All of my creations are based and inspired by nature and this is no exception. In this work of gestural markings, I focused on the exploration of thoughtful color placement and spontaneous ink markings. There is an energy that comes through with the use of the layering of paint and ink. In this painting surface, lines and color are the most important elements in the process of the study.
